La experiencia de tener un hijo/a en la unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales

Abstract

Introducción: Durante los primeros minutos de vida, algunos recién nacidos presentan problemas de salud que les llevan a ingresar en una Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatal (UCIN), ya que debido a su patología son pacientes que precisarán un elevado nivel de cuidados. El ingreso en este tipo de unidades, en las cuales se viene desarrollando desde hace años un modelo de atención conocido como Cuidados Centrados en la Familia, se centra en que este ingreso no solo afecta de forma directa al neonato sino también a sus padres, que ven alterados sus ideales, su rol y, las relaciones de vínculo y apego con el recién nacido, provocándoles situaciones de estrés, angustia y ansiedad. Objetivo: Este estudio pretende analizar las percepciones de los padres y madres con hijos/as ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN). Metodología: Utilizaremos una metodología cualitativa apoyada en el paradigma fenomenológico, ya que nos permitirá describir el significado de la experiencia vivida por estas familias con el fin de conocer la realidad que experimentan. La población de estudio serán aquellos padres y madres que tengan a su hijo/a ingresado en una de las UCIN de la Comunidad de Madrid. Para ello se realizarán entrevistas abiertas en profundidad que serán grabadas mediante un sistema de audio. Conclusiones: Se pretende realizar una valoración familiar mediante la obtención de información a través de las entrevistas, que nos permita describir cuáles son los puntos fuertes y débiles de la implantación de este modelo de Cuidados Centrados en la Familia en las UCIN

Introduction: During the first minutes of life, some babies have health problems that lead them to enter in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), since due to their disease are patients who will require a high level of care. Membership in such units, which for years has been developing a model of care called Family Centered Care, focuses on this income directly affects not only the neonate shape but also their parents, who are altered its ideals, its role and relations bonding and attachment with the infant, causing them stress, anguish and anxiety. Objective: This study tries to analyze the perceptions of the parents and mothers with sons and daughters joined the Unit of Intensive care Neonatales (NICU). Methodology: We use a qualitative methodology based on the phenomenological paradigm, as it allows us to describe the meaning of the lived experience of these families in order to know the reality they experience. The study population will be those parents who have their son / daughter admitted to NICU of the Community of Madrid. This open-depth interviews that will be recorded by an audio system will be made. Conclusions: It is intended to perform a family assessment by obtaining information through interviews, that allows us to describe what are the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of this model in the Family Centered Care in the NICU.
