Abstract

El presente artículo examina el asunto Cassirer, relativo a la obra de arte Rue St.Honoré, aprés-midi, effet de pluie, del artista Camille Pissarro. En 1939, Lilly Cassirer, propietaria de la obra, se vio obligada a dejarla en Alemania, cuando tuvo que huir de los Nazis. Su nieto y heredero, Claude Cassirer, tras descubrir que la obra de arte se encontraba en el Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, solicitó su restitución ante los tribunales del Estado de California

This article analyses the affair Cassirer, related to the work of art Rue St.Honoré, aprés-midi, effet de pluie, by Camille Pissarro. In 1939, Lilly Cassirer, who was the owner of the painting, had to leave it in Germany, when she had to escape the Nazis. Her grandson and heir, Claude Cassirer, after discovering that the work of art was on display in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, asked for the restitution of the work of art before the courts of the State of California
