Juegos olímpicos de los trabajadores: Una visión artística desde las viñetas

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se ha tratado de analizar a través de las viñetas que han generado los distintos Juegos Olímpicos de los Trabajadores, el componente ideológico y artístico de las mismas. Dada la similitud de los Juegos, aquí agrupamos todos los realizados de forma independiente del COI. Como veremos tuvieron distintos nombres según la entidad que los organizaba y compitieron también entre ellos para captar afiliados a sus organizaciones. Las viñetas, en general, se utilizaban para recaudar fondos para la entidad que las emitía, en este caso el organizador de los Juegos, y también para hacer publicidad a través del correo. En relación a unas viñetas, con fecha 1935, de la no realizada Olimpiada relativa de Barcelona, pensamos que presentamos muchos indicios que resuelven la paradoja de la fecha y el emisor. Finalmente constatamos la similitud del arte, en este caso el dibujo de las viñetas, cuando se trata de potenciar ideologías que aparentemente son muy dispares pero en realidad no lo son tanto. This study analyzes the ideological and artistic components of the poster stamps generated by the different International Workers' Olympiads. Given the similarities between the different Games, for this study all Games organized independently from the COI have been grouped together. As we will see, the Games had different names and competed also between them, in order to get affiliates for their organizations. The poster stamps were used in general to collect funds for the issuing entity, in this case the Games organizer, and also to make publicity by mail. As regards the poster stamps of 1935, corresponding to the non-realized Barcelona Olympiad, we believe that we present many hints that help understand the paradox of the date and the issuing entity. Eventually, we verify the similarity of the art, in this case the poster stamps drawing, when it is aimed to promote ideologies which are apparently different, but not so much in fact. Once more, this refers to art at the service of power, which has in this case a common ground
