Jaime Gil de Biedma y la tradición literaria

Abstract

La tesis tiene como objetivo presentar los esfuerzos de Jaime Gil de Biedma por acercarse, — y finalmente—, entrar en la tradición literaria posmoderna a través del contacto y la asimilación de la obra de W. H. Auden. Después de demostrar el papel que desempeña Gil de Biedma como lector y traductor de Auden, el trabajo se centra en las reflexiones sobre el arte poética (la dicción, la métrica) y el tratamiento de los temas esenciales (la posguerra, la vida y el arte) que comparten los dos poetas. A través de estudiar las afinidades que tiene Gil de Biedma con la tradición literaria que representa Auden, la tesis sirve para presentar un mejor entendimiento de la poesía de Gil de Biedma, cuya singularidad le ofrece un lugar especial en la lírica española del siglo XX

The dissertation aims to explore how Jaime Gil de Biedma approaches, and finally, enters the postmodern literary tradition under the influence of W. H. Auden. After demonstrating the role played by Gil de Biedma as a reader and translator of Auden, the study focuses on the poetic (diction, metrics) and thematic (post-war, life and art) aspects of their works from a comparative point of view. By studying the affinities that Gil de Biedma has with the literary tradition represented by Auden, the dissertation serves to better understand the poetry of Gil de Biedma and the special place that he enjoys in the Spanish poetry of the twentieth century
