This article aims to provide a model in order to understand religious manifestations of the pre-Roman peninsular North-West area in the late Iron Age, according to their possible functions for different hillfort societies. It is intended to illustrate how the relationship between certain ideological schemes and social events can be understood through the processes of construction of several types of identities and the reshaping of the hillfort cultural memory. Thus, the focus of this article is to achieve a more thorough and comprehensive understanding of the hillfort religion, which might help to integrate the scattered data preserved
