criptorquidia postpuberal. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | This research project aims to study the changes present in testes of patients with
chronic hepatic impairment, an acquired condition, in relation to the wall of the seminiferous
tubules and the testicular interstitium, and compare them with the changes observed in
postpubertal cryptorchidism, a congenital pathology. For this purpose, it has been designed an
immunohistochemical study to explore the expression of the following molecules: CD 34 to
identify myoid cells and peritubular fibroblasts, CD68 to identify macrophages, and tryptase, as
marker of mast cells.
The material included control subjects (10 cases), patients with chronic liver failure (17
cases), and patients with postpubertal cryptorchidism (10 cases). All scanned molecules were
identified by immunohistochemical method of streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase. Quantification of
the area of immunostaining with CD34 was performed with the Image J program, and cell
counts of CD68 + macrophages and tryptase + mast cell were performed.
It has been found that the testis interstitium and peritubular wall show the alterations in
chronic liver disease. A variety of alterations in spermatogenesis, from hypospermatogenesis to
full tubular atrophy, increased interstitial fibrosis, showing a major area of CD34 + fibroblasts
and fibers and presence of CD68 + macrophages in both interstitium and peritubular wall were
observed. These differences are statistically significant compared to the control group and the
group of postpubertal undescended testicles.
Both the group with liver failure and the group of postpubertal cryptorchidism showed
increased presence of tryptase+ mast cells in testicular interstitial tissue and peritubular wall.
The increment was statistically significant compared to the control group, but not between the
two groups study.
All these data suggests significant changes in the testicular interstitium and the
peritubular wall in testes of patients with liver failure and patients with postpubertal
cryptorchidism. | en_US |
