Aguaceros e inundaciones en el sureste de España en la primera mitad del siglo I: Repercusiones de un riesgo histórico

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza las crecidas y las riadas que acontecieron en las cuencas del Vinalopó y Segura. Se abordan las destrucciones que uno de los riesgos inherentes al territorio valenciano provocó en los núcleos urbanos, las viviendas en la huerta, los cultivos y las infraestructuras hidráulicas y viarias. Por otro lado, se tratan las políticas de defensa aplicadas desde las autoridades municipales para hacer frente a este desastre, ya fueran de índole religioso o técnico. El marco temporal tratado corresponde a la fase cálida desarrollada dentro de la última etapa de la Pequeña Edad del Hielo y ubicada entre dos pulsaciones, los últimos coletazos del mínimo de Maunder (1645-1715) y la anomalía Maldá (1760-1800). La muestra tomada procede de diferentes archivos locales del sur de Alicante. Para la comarca del Medio Vinalopó la localidad trabajada ha sido Novelda; para el Bajo Vinalopó, Elche; y para el Bajo Segura, Orihuela

This article analyses the rises and the floods tha occurred at the basins of the rivers Vinalopó an Segura. It is pointed out of destructions that one of the risk inherent in the territory of Valencia caused in the urban cores, country houses, crops and hydraulic and road infrastuctures. Furthermore, it is presented the defence politics applied by the local authorities in order to face up this disaster, either of religious or technical nature. The timeframe dealt with corresponds to the warm phase developed within the last period of the Little Ice Age and situated among two pulses, the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715) in its death throes and the “Maldá” Anomaly (1760-1800). The sample comes from the various local files, highlighting the "Actas Capitulares". Regarding the area of Medio Vinalopó, the chosen town has been Novelda; respecting Bajo Vinalopó it has been Elche and in relation to Bajo Segura, it has been Orihuela
