Las destrezas de comunicación del director escolar y el manejo de conflicto en Puerto Rico

Abstract

La presente investigación estudia las destrezas de comunicación del director escolar y el manejo de conflictos, en las escuelas intermedias de dos distritos escolares del Departamento de Educación de Puerto Rico. La investigación se llevó a cabo utilizando un diseño descriptivo correlacional. Según los resultados se determinó que no existe relación significativa entre las destrezas de comunicación del director escolar y total de número de conflictos resueltos en el plantel escolar. De acuerdo con los hallazgos, las destrezas de comunicación que los directores escolares participantes utilizan en el proceso de mediación de conflictos son: Informar acerca del conflicto a tratar, informar la verdad acerca del conflicto a tratar entre las partes involucradas en el proceso de disolución de los conflictos en sus escuelas y evaluar los efectos positivos y negativos para llevar a cabo la conclusión del conflicto en sus escuelas. Otras destrezas de comunicación utilizadas por los directores escolares participantes de acuerdo con los hallazgos son: verificar los rasgos negativos, para considerar la veracidad de los datos del conflicto, antes de ser mediador y conocer las partes involucradas y establecer acuerdos en condiciones de igualdad para causar la disolución del conflicto en sus respectivas escuelas

The present research study the communication skills of the school director and conflict management in the middle schools of two school districts of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico. The research was carried out using a descriptive correlational design. According to the results it was determined that there is no significant relationship between the communication skills of the school director and the total number of conflicts resolved in the school site. According to the findings, the communication skills that the participating school principals use in the conflict mediation process are: To inform about the conflict to be addressed, to inform the truth about the conflict to be treated between the parties involved in the dissolution process of The conflicts in their schools and evaluate the positive and negative effects to carry out the conclusion of the conflict in their schools. Other communication skills used by participating school principals according to the findings are: to verify the negative traits, to consider the truth of the conflict data, before being a mediator and to know the parties involved and to establish agreements on an equal basis to cause The dissolution of the conflict in their respective schools
