Abstract

L’internazionalizzazione dell’istruzione superiore (IoHE, acronimo di “Internationalisation Of Higher Education”) è un concetto ampio e variegato. Nel corso degli ultimi anni, tra i programmi europei per la ricerca e l’istruzione, il programma Erasmus é stato il motore di un approccio ampio e strategico dell’internazionalizzazione dell’istruzione superiore europea e ha rappresentato un esempio per istituti, nazioni e regioni in altre parti del mondo. Questo articolo analizza il processo di internazionalizzazione delle università italiane sulla base del programma Erasmus, e presenta una panoramica di ciò che si intende per globalizzazione, in particolare, la globalizzazione nel contesto dell'istruzione superiore. Allo stesso modo, nell’ambito della mobilità, si analizzano i principali dati sui flussi Erasmus tanto in Europa come in Italia, paese che ha visto negli ultimi anni un aumento esponenziale della partecipazione al programma e la volontà di fomentare l’internazionalizzazione dell’istruzione superiore del paese
 
The internationalization of higher education (IoHE, an English acronym for “Internationalization of Higher Education”) is a broad and varied concept. Over the last few years, among the European programs for research and education, the Erasmus program has been the engine of a broad and strategic approach to the internationalization of European higher education and has been an example for institutions, nations and regions in other parts of the world. This article analyzes the process of internationalization of Italian universities based on the Erasmus program and presents an overview of what is meant by globalization and, in particular, globalization in the context of higher education. At the same time, in the context of moblity, we analyze the main data on Erasmus flows both in Europe and in Italy, the latter, a country that has seen in the past few years an exponential increase in participation in the program and the desire to foment the internationalization of higher education of the institutions of the country
