Abstract
universitarios The research is related to the so-called information society and delimits it to the field of
reading hypertexts and to the use, appropriation and reconfiguration of the new languages
that they contain. In this sense, the advance study offers an explanation of the language that
has been created on the Internet and of the new communicative and linguistic practices
(NPCL) that this has generated among university students. The study of hypertext implies
the need to review the curriculum and teaching practices in the university courses of
production and comprehension of texts, centered today in the Spanish language. It is also
considered important to establish a regulation or minimum standards through instructive
texts that give a framework to the reading modes of hypertexts that have made their way
into the information society. This would be a challenge to take on, especially on the part of
the universities and the State, since the incidence of reading hypertexts in the new linguistic and communicative practices of university students is evident
