Abstract
Introducción: El uso y abuso de las drogas es un problema sociosanitario con consecuencias como el síndrome de abstinencia neonatal, provocado por el consumo de tóxicos en el embarazo, que se manifiesta en el recién nacido tras su nacimiento al cesar la exposición a drogas. -Objetivo: Revisar literatura sobre la atención enfermera en el cuidado de los recién nacidos con síndrome de abstinencia neonatal, y en la prevención y cuidado de la madre. -Metodología: Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos de Ciencias de la Salud Pubmed, Cuiden, Cinhal, Cochrane y otros documentos de organismos, desde el año 2013 hasta 2018. -Resultados: En los 27 artículos seleccionados se ha recogido información acerca de la prevención durante el embarazo de mujeres consumidoras de drogas para poder atenderles, la identificación y la valoración de los recién nacidos que padecen un síndrome de abstinencia neonatal para poder iniciar intervenciones, el tratamiento farmacológico que se puede utilizar con ellos para el cese de la sintomatología, los cuidados de enfermería para estos niños, así como las terapias alternativas existentes y utilizadas para este tipo de pacientes. -Conclusiones: La atención a mujeres embarazadas consumidoras de drogas y a sus hijos/as con síndrome de abstinencia neonatal implica a numerosos profesionales, cobrando gran importancia los cuidados que realizan los enfermeros en el área preventiva, en el diagnóstico y en el cuidado para lograr una mejora del estado de salud, y una disminución del tiempo de hospitalización y de la severidad de la patología. Introduction: The use and abuse of drugs is a socio-sanitary problem with consequences such as the neonatal abstinence syndrome, caused by the consumption of drugs during the pregnancy that has its manifestation in the newborn after his birth because of the cessation of the drug exposure. -Objective: To review the literature on nursing care in the attention of newborns with a neonatal abstinence syndrome, and in the prevention and care of the mother. -Methodology: A bibliographic review was made in different databases of Health Sciences such as Pubmed, Cuiden, Cinhal, Cochrane, and with documents from different organisms, from 2013 to 2018. -Results: In the 27 selected articles, information has been collected about the prevention during the pregnancy of women who use drugs in order to assist them, the identification and assessment of newborns who suffer from a neonatal abstinence syndrome in order to initiate interventions with them, the pharmacological treatment that can be used with them for the cessation of the symptomatology, the nursing interventions for these children, as well as the alternative therapies that exist and are used with this patients. -Conclusions: The care of pregnant women who use drugs and their children with a neonatal abstinence syndrome involves many professionals, being very important those made by the nurses in the prevention area, in the diagnosis and in the care to achieve an improvement in the health status, and a decrease in the length of stay in the hospital and in the severity of the pathology.
