Comentarios sobre el artículo de Ramos y Robles (2019): “Sobre el rechazo de tratamientos en la anorexia: análisis crítico”

Abstract

El artículo de Ramos y Robles (2019) publicado en el número 30 de esta revista analiza el rechazo al tratamiento en anorexia nerviosa. Con el presente artículo se pretende estimular el debate incorporando algunos comentarios sobre decisor competente versus mejor decisor, conciencia de enfermedad versus conciencia de vida con la enfermedad, objetivo del tratamiento, efectividad del tratamiento, agradecimiento diferido, escala graduada de capacidad, necesidad de conocer los deseos del/de la paciente. Se finaliza planteando la posible justificación de diferentes modos de actuación frente a pacientes crónicos/as y debutantes en virtud de su conciencia de vida con la enfermedad, el componente concienciador de la intervención y las perspectivas de éxito terapéutico

The paper by Ramos y Robles (2019), published in the issue number 30 of this journal, analyses the rejection of treatment in anorexia nervosa. The current article aims to stimulate the debate by incorporating some comments on competent decision-maker versus best decision- maker, insight into illness versus insight into life with the illness, objective of treatment, effectiveness of treatment, deferred gratitude, sliding-scale of competence, need to know the patient’s wishes. This work concludes raising the possible justification of different modes of action depending on the chronicity of the patient, their insight into life with the illness, the insight-raising component of the intervention and the prospects of therapeutic success.
