Cuando el futuro de nuestro pasado resulta no ser el presente

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan tres episodios a nuestro juicio determinantes para la actual forma adoptada por la Era Digital. Analizamos las circunstancias bajo las cuales tuvieron lugar comprobando en todos los casos que las soluciones alcanza-das disponían de alternativas más comunes y esperables que las finalmente adoptadas. Se contraponen unas a otras para concluir que la Era Digital se adelantó a lo razonablemente esperable en su momento adoptando formas y con!guracio-nes que favorecieron inesperadamente su alcance y penetración

In this paper, we analyze three episodes that in our opinion are decisive for the current form adopted by the Digital Era. We analyze the circumstances under which they took place, verifying in all cases that the solutions reached had more common and expected alternatives than those !nally adopted. They are contrasted against each other to conclude that the Digital Era anticipated what was reasonably expected at the time, adopting forms and configurations that unexpectedly favored its reach and penetration
