La gestión de la intermodalidad del transporte como elemento de dinamización turística. El caso de las Tierras Altas de Soria

Abstract

La intermodalidad del transporte de pasajeros ofrece numerosas posibilidades. Destaca la capacidad de reducir los costes externos del transporte, así como de dinamización turística y diversificación de la oferta turística española. Por otro lado, la intermodalidad mejora la eficiencia del sistema de transporte y brinda a los operadores y al sector turístico la oportunidad de ofrecer servicios integrales e innovadores, perfectamente ajustados a las necesidades de los consumidores. El presente trabajo estudia las características más relevantes de la intermodalidad, así como algunas iniciativas llevadas a cabo hasta la fecha, con el fin de identificar las ventajas y retos de la intermodalidad aplicada al turismo. Posteriormente, se efectúa una propuesta de gestión para el caso de las Tierras Altas de Soria desde un punto de vista turístico y sostenible

Passenger intermodality opens the gate to numerous possibilities. Among them, the lessening of external costs of transport, together with tourism revitalization and diversification of the Spanish touristic supply. Intermodality would thus enhance the efficiency of the transport system. It would likewise allow transport operators and the tourism industry to offer integrated and ground-breaking products, adjusted to each customer in order to perfectly meet their needs. This document examines the most relevant aspects of intermodality, as well as some of the initiatives implemented hitherto so as to identify the virtues and challenges of intermodality in tourism transportation. A management proposal for Tierras Altas in Soria from a touristic and sustainable standpoint is hereinafter submitted
